Story
A fresh coming-of-age film from director Nagisa Oshima, set in Okinawa in 1972 when it was returned to mainland Japan. This wonderful film looks at the complex relationships between mainland Japan and Okinawa with humor and irony, as seen through a girl from the mainland and the strange people that she meets. This is a nostalgic and dazzling look at the lost landscapes of Okinawa.
